Natural Healthy Beauty, Make-up, Skincare for Busy Women

Paraben is a commonly used ingredient in many beauty products. It’s cheap and effective as a preservative so that’s the reason that so many companies use it. But it isn’t quite as innocent as many companies would have you believe.
Parabens such as methyl-paraben, propyl-paraben, butyl-paraben, ethyl-paraben have caused a stir in the last few years because it has been found in 90% of breast cancer tumours.
Studies so far have been inconclusive as to whether paraben actually caused the tumor or not, but while the jury is still out, so will any cream in my cupboard that contains this little nasty.
You see paraben has an estrogenic effect on the body and excess estrogen has been linked not only to breast cancer but also to weight gain, depression and even infertility. This really could be a case that your moisturiser might just be preventing you falling pregnant!
It was because of this that I have decided to now use only totally organic natural cosmetics and skincare and will only be recommending such products in this blog from here on.

I was actually quite excited about trying the MiEssence Organics Mint Toothpaste because I had been reading other reviews from people about how they liked how clean it made they mouths feel so when my delivery arrived that was the first thing I tried.
A little background on my dental woes probably won’t go astray here – for the past four or five months one of my teeth has been giving me grief. My dentist said he can’t find anything wrong but suggested I have a root canal because that should fix things up (!), I decided to just chew on one side of my mouth instead which I have been doing.
Now granted the tooth pain comes and goes, so I can’t fully credit the toothpaste, but since using the toothpaste it hasn’t come back yet. Coincidence? I’ll keep you updated.
But I digress. Back to the review.
It doesn’t ‘stick’ to the toothbrush like regular toothpaste so I had to kind of squish it on there with my finger. The texture is unusual (but not unpleasant), if you’ve ever cleaned your teeth with baking soda before it’s kind of like that but much less abrasive.
The mint tastes nice. Not as strong as the minty taste of regularly toothpastes, but I guess that’s because it’s REAL mint, rather that fake flavouring.
And yes, my mouth, gums and teeth feel really fresh and clean. I really like it. .
I can’t wait to try the other flavours now (it also comes in lemon and anise).
