Natural Healthy Beauty, Make-up, Skincare for Busy Women
Looking at pictures of models in magazines is enough for anyone to get skin envy, and while most of those pictures are helped by lighting, good makeup techniques and re-touching, it is possible to get glowing healthy looking skin yourself with just a few simple steps.
Today’s lotions and potions are now more effective than ever at ridding any dullness on the skin but of course having a strong foundation of good nutrition, healthy cosmetics (no nasty toxins to clog pores) and lots of water for hydration is the best starting point.
Exfoliate
Your first step to a luminous complexion is to get rid of any dead skin cells that are clinging to your face. While normal cleansing will get rid of some of the dead cells, you really need a scrub or exfoliant to speed things up.
A good exfoliant should have ultra fine smooth particles that will transform your skin without irritation or redness and leave the skin glowing. Using an exfoliant or one of the new at home micro-dermabrasion kit’s once or twice a week will renew your radiance in no time.
For those with sensitive skin, using a facial peel crème with salicylic and glycolic acids will gently remove dead skin cells revealing younger looking skin underneath without any harsh scrubbing that may irritate some skin types. The benefit of using a facial peel crème such as Nutrimetics Ultra Care+ Facial Peel Creme is that they are also very effective at clearing pore blockages to leave your face smooth and radiant.
Moisturise
After exfoliating is the best time to follow up with a moisturiser. The new visible skin that you have revealed will glow if it is adequately hydrated. Dry skin can often look dull in comparison.Â
One of the best ways to moisturise new skin is with a serum or elixir as these ultra light moisturising systems give an immediate hydrating boost to new cells and can restore the skin’s natural moisture balance very effectively giving an instant younger look.
If you have a spare 30 minutes or more (yeah right), but if you DO manage to find some time then why not treat yourself to a mini spa session at home!
You’ll feel rejuvenated and relaxed – just like you’ve spent the day at a spa (only waaay cheaper)!.
1. Start by filling the bath with warm water. Add your favorite essential oil or bath serum to the bath to hydrate and moisturise your body.
2. Light a candle or two and put some fragrance onto your oil burner (vanilla is my favorite fragrance at the moment). Soft music will also set the mood, but keep it away from any water.
3. Cleanse your face using a soothing cleansing cream, and follow with a facial mask. Choose a mask that is deeply moisturising and purifying.
4. Get into the bath and soak for at least 15 minutes. Use that time to clear your mind of any stress. Use relaxation and meditation techniques.
5. Exfoliate your skin with a body scrub to smooth any dry patches and get your skin glowing.
6. Get out of the tub and dry yourself off with a big fluffy towel.
7, Spritz your face and body with an aromatherapy face and body mist. Apply a moisturising lotion to your body paying particular attention to your knees and elbows.
8. Remove the face mask and apply a soothing and nourishing face moisturiser.
